Showered with LOVE

This weekend was my sister Lani's baby shower at my parents house and my first time using my new camera. Lani is due next month and I am so excited for her! She will be an amazing mother to her new baby boy.

I was a little picture happy but it was such a gorgeous day and was so fun to see all my sisters, cousins, childhood friends, and nieces - who, like Pavlov's dogs, have been trained since birth to take pictures on command (thanks to grandma). Here are a few of my favorites shots from the day.

Spring is almost here. And today was such a gorgeous tease, blue skies and sunshine and little birdies chirping in the trees. ah I can't wait!

As I've grown older I've come to the realization that I really don't care for winter. I'm not a skier, I pay for my own utilities now, and I'm not in school anymore so the hope for a snow day has all but vanished. The cold does nothing for me. nothing. and I can't stand that it gets dark by 6:30 pm. ugh.

Thankfully, daylight savings is only a couple of weeks away (the second Sunday in March) and the days will start getting longer and warmer. Ideal for all kinds of wonderful activities which I've decided to display through the magic of vintage posters.

Lately

I just had to post a picture of these gorgeous roses, I know it's totally lame to take pictures of flowers but I just love the colors of these. You just can't go wrong with roses . Anyways, in a few days I will be able to take much, MUCH better pictures that will make even the most beautiful flowers look even better because I am going to this camera (my Valentine's Day present) I can't wait!!!!!
It's a Canon Digital Rebel XS Black 18-55 IS. I have always wanted a digital SLR and my dream is finally coming true.

In other, less exciting news, I have been getting re-acquainted with an old hobby of mine....

Painting has always been wonderfully relaxing for me, and a few weeks ago i decided to bust out my old art kit and do some fun colorful prints for our apartment. White walls are so cold and just don't do anything for a room, so I made these fun little prints to liven them up a bit. The birds are my favorite.

6 Months Later

Last Saturday was our six-month wedding anniversary . I can't believe how fast it has flown by and how much fun it has been! I freaking love my husband.

Because it is almost Valentine's Day and because Brody has to work that holiday too (grr, he already had to work Christmas Eve, New Year's and Halloween) we decided to combine the two. We went to dinner at the Market Street Grill and then went to "She's Just Not that Into You". The movie was good (not great) but the night was fantastic.

Brody got a new laptop and I get a new digital SLR camera. I am so excited! It's something I have wanted for a long time and can't wait. I am such a lucky girl!

We also got to go to a Jazz game last week, my boss was out of town and gave us his tickets. We won.
