Sarah
Drink it in people. Is this not STUNNING?! I am in love with everything in this room. From the white-washed wood paneling, the stone fireplace, the windows everywhere, and don't even get me started about the sailboat on the mantle. These images are from Sarah Richardson's design portfolio which I've been daydreaming about most of the day. For those who haven't discovered Sarah's House on hgtv, Sarah Richardson is an incredibly talented interior designer and is hands down my favorite. I'm pretty sure her lake-front cottage is probably the decor equivalent to finding nirvana.
I think I could get used to that view

Fall, I love you
I am so excited that fall is almost here! It's my favorite time of the year, no questions asked. I keep checking the weather everyday, hoping to see the temperature creep down into the 50's/60's. Since the official start of fall is just around the corner, I thought I would share just a few of the reasons this magical season is my favorite in no particular order:
- Of course, the leaves! Even more specifically, the color of the aspen trees at my cabin. Every year, my family goes up there for conference and it almost always falls on the weekend when the aspens have reached their golden peak. Can't wait!
- The sound of leaves crunching underfoot
- Strolling through a pumpkin patch, searching for the perfect Cinderella-esque one
- When almost overnight, the air gets cool and crisp and you have huddle in your warm, cozy comforter in the mornings
- Scarves
- Coats! Coats! Coats! (anyone who knows me, knows I love a nice trench)
- Butternut squash soup
- I can justify wearing tights everyday, and thereby don't have to shave my legs as often ;)
- Halloween. Enough said.
- Curling up in front of a fire with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate
- My favorite shows are back (Modern Family and 30 Rock anyone?)
- My pale complexion is relatively less noticeable :)
- Football. Now, this one comes with a LOT of caveats, but there is something nostalgic to be said for the background noise of a football game.
- You are that much closer to being able to justifiably listen to Christmas music
- Back to school. I wasn't a fan when I was younger, but as I get older I really start to appreciate this one. Teenagers are pretty annoying for the most part, am I right?
- Boots. Finally!
- Flannel, tweed, corduroy, and so much more!
- Pumpkin pie, pumpkin-chocolate-chip cookies, pumpkin spice frappachino's from Starbucks
- Speaking of pumpkin pie, Thanksgiving and the only excuse all year to completely indulge and eat as much as possible.
- Making a complete mess carving pumpkins
To borrow a phrase, don't you just love fall? It makes we want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly-sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address...

Equestrian Love
Can I please just live in these Anthropologie ads? They remind me of the classic Ralph Lauren commercials which have always been my favorites.
Seriously, they are so beautiful and I'm in love with all things preppy / equestrian lately. Well I've always had a soft spot for preppy and lately I've been trying to find some classic, A-line skirts just in a nice solid but to no avail. Don't get me wrong, I love a good pencil skirt but I feel like that's all that's out right now. I'm so at a loss I'm seriously considering these uniform skirts from Lands End. Uniforms people! Are they hideous or cute? Please tell me and don't hold back. Or, if you know of any beautiful a-line skirts send me a link, I'm dying here people.
And may I just say that I LOVE Diane Keaton's style! She always looks amazing and original whether its her ultra feminine (cinched at the waist) skirt and blouse combos with the over-sized belt, or the men's wear a la Annie Hall. Love it.

Labor Day
It was a wonderful holiday weekend, full of shopping, family, and more shopping. I don't know what came over me but I just couldn't get enough! I think I'm just so excited for fall, it's my favorite season by far. The leaves, the cool crisp air, layering clothes, boots, etc. etc. These incredible plaid boat shoes were just one of many purchases this weekend. Word to the wise, if you plan to go to the Park City outlets next labor day the sales are amazing, yes. but the traffic is horrific. Consider yourself warned. After my exploits at the outlets I spent the rest of Monday soaking up the sun and reading at my parent's cabin. It was lovely.
