It's been an interesting week. We've had some wonderful landmarks and some really irritating instances. So, the bad first:
- Last weekend when we went to get our car inspected for our new tags, after not driving it for about two weeks, we found that someone had stolen our temporary tags, and those lovely parking enforcement people had left two tickets on our winshield for not having said tags. Great.
- We then proceeded to the DMV where we got to wait about an hour and pay almost $400 to officially register our car. When we went to put our official plates on the car, the screw was jammed from those lovely theives so we had to stick it in the window til we got home to some tools.
- THEN, when we went to the car to drive for tutoring, there were two more tickets on our winshield because apparently DC requires you to have plates on both the front and back of your vehicle. Our car does not have a place for the license on the front. Terrific.
- We are not going to pay for these tickets. Especially the first two and I'm getting excited at the prospect of Brody being an attorney. Oh yes, and in the midst of all this, Brody was taking finals. Needless to say, I have not been a big fan of the city this week, and was seriously considering just selling the car yesterday. Seriously.
But of course, with the bad, there has been some good and we've had some fantastic things happen this week:
- Brody finished his finals yesterday, which was the greatest news ever. Just to give you an idea of how stressful the process was, one of the kids in his first final had a stress-induced seizure during the test so there's that.... and Brody has been studying about 13-15 hours a day for the last two weeks. So we are both VERY happy that he's done.
- I found out today that I'm getting a little raise for 2012, which is always welcome news.
- We leave for Utah next week and are so excited to see our friends and familiy back home :)
- It was in the 60's yesterday which was crazy and awesome for mid-December.
- I'm going to take Brody out on the town tonight to celebrate being done with finals, yay for date nights!

yuck to all the car troubles, and for the stress of finals. But yay for being done with finals and I am super excited for you to come visit Utah. And sorry my computer ran out of battery this morning mid talking with you. Anyway love you and hope you guys have a great date night tonight!
i don't think there is much else in the whorl, other than dealing with rude people for some customer service related thing, that will make your day go worse than a ticket. i am so sorry you have had so many, hopefully it will all work out. And yay for a raise and yay for brody being done and yay for you coming to utah, we can't wait!
