In all our nerdy glory

Let's just talk about Harry Potter for a minute. The movie was great. There were a few little kinks that could have been ironed out, but all-in-all it was really good. Lacey and I dusted off our Dolores Umbridge (Lacey) and Rita Skeeter (Me) costumes and went to Gateway for the extravaganza midnight showing with Megan and Gayle and her sister Deb. It was so fun to get all dressed up and let our freak flags fly with other unabashed fans.

First we went to CPK for delicious desserts and then over to a party at the IMAX theaters. They were "sorting" people but it was a total sham. The guy with the remote control thingy totally rigged and I got Hufflepuff. Lacey got Gryffindor.

This was in the theater, super giddy waiting for it to start!!!

The story behind this picture is the best. These guys were Harry and Draco and sat right next to us in the theater. The Draco was just too good with his slicked hair and popped collar that Lacey had to get a picture with them. They were ''balling" at the end, which just makes it even better.

It was such a fun night!!!! And almost a little bitter sweet as there is only one left.

You know you want to come next summer.......

The Perfect Excuse

...to wear my wedding dress again

My amazingly nice and oh-so-talented wedding photographer, Tavis Johnson, messaged me out of the blue to see if I would be interested in doing another bridal session for his portfolio, just for fun. It took me about two seconds to respond.

Any excuse to wear my dress again is fine by me. He has posted some of the pictures on his blog here

The Good Life

I realize I haven't blogged for over a month, but I have legit excuses I promise.

First, Brody was making some upgrades to our computer and one of the parts didn't work, yadda yadda, yadda. Everything is great now and we are back in business.

Second, I was busy enjoying HALLOWEEN!!! Although once again Brody's job put a damper on my fun as he had to work that night. But I was able to go to my parent's ward's party and see my adorable nieces and nephews all decked out. Laina was Dora the Explorer, Naya was a cat and Kai was Optomis Prime. Too cute.

Lacey's family had a Wizard of Oz theme. She was the wicked with of the West, Russ was the Scarecrow, Halle was Dorothy and cute little Miller was the Lion. They won best costume at the party.

And of course I got to see my awesome parents in costume. I stole this picture from Lacey, but it was too good. She pointed out my dad's 'Uncle Eddie' from Christmas Vacation vibe with that hunter's hat. And can we just appreciate how hilarious my mom's costume is? Three Amigos?! amazing.

To cap off the night, me and Megan went totally celeb-obsessed and tried to trick-or-treat at Phil Dunfey's house, but to no avail. He wasn't home as you can see by his dark porch behind me. But don't dismay, we'll go back. Then we went to a friend's for a little Halloween party. All-in-all it was a great night. Oh and if you are wondering, my sign says "Double Rainbow All the Way" and I had one on my back that said "What Does It MEAN???" Megan wore a sign with a double rainbow on it. Phil would have loved it, I just know it.

Third, I have been in traveling for work this past week. First to Cincinnati to my company's headquarters on the Monday and Tuesday, and then to Florence, Indiana for our Annual retreat. And when I say "Florence" I really mean the super random Belterra Resort and Casino in the middle of nowhere, Indiana as you can see from the picture below that I snapped on my phone as we went over the bridge toward the resort. Florence is actually like a half hour away. But they do have an H&M which was a plus.

Anyway, the highlight of the trip was right at the end when my boss let me fly home on the company's private jet!!!!! and I must say it was FABULOUS. Seriously I just kept hearing "Come Fly With Me" by Frank Sinatra in my head the entire time. I might be ruined for all commercial air travel in the future... but at least I can check that off my list!

"If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
