Charlottesville

Brody and I drove down to Charlottesville on Saturday. And while it was a fun day, things didn't exactly go according to plan...

We had planned to go to Monticello before the game...which apparently every other BYU fan within a two-state radius of Virginia decided to do too. When we got there around 1:00 (after getting stuck in traffic for an hour), the woman at the ticket counter told us that because they had been so flooded with cougar fans, all of the tours that would be done in time for the game were sold out. So we ended up just walking around and visiting the museum and visitor's center.

After grabbing some lunch, I dropped Brody off at the stadium and I walked and shopped around their historic Main street, which is really quaint and charming.  After the first quarter it started pouring rain, and the game got delayed for about 85 hours because of lightning--which, by the way, had stopped after about 15 minutes. So.....it was a long day and although UVA's campus is truly stunning, there's only so much to see.  We ended up leaving about half-way through the 3rd quarter.
