Girl's Trip - Day 1 and 2

My mom and sisters were in town last week and it was so much fun to see them all and have some quality sister time. For some reason, there was a horrific heat wave for the exact days they were here (upper 80's, low 90's) but we made do and did our best to enjoy the city, even with half of it being closed for the stupid shutdown. You'll notice several police lines being crossed. Take that Congress! Also, perhaps it's just that we are all too expressive or animated for our own good, but there are some real gems of candids in these pictures.

After picking them up at Reagan airport via the Metro, we stopped by the apartment on our way to the hotel, which was just down the street. Then went to the Hamilton for dinner and strolled by the White House on our way home. The next day we walked around the mall, getting as close to the monuments as possible and braving the heat. We managed to see the Lincoln, Viet Nam wall, Korean Memorial, MLK Jr, FDR and The Jefferson. On our long walk back to the metro from there, we passed the Holocaust museum and the bureau of engraving and printing.
