I feel vindicated. After last year's disastrous turn at Sundance, this weekend more than made up for it. The weather was good for January in Park City and we had such a great time walking Main Street, shopping some adorable boutiques, and of course stalking celebs.
Friday night started off a little slower but we camped out in front of the Bing Bar and saw itty-bitty Ryan Seacrest, Patrick Wilson, Milo Ventimiglia, the random guy from Seinfeld who can't remember Elaine's name, and we even had a nice little chat with Ross the Intern. Ever since I first saw Ross calling Scarlett Johansen a b on the red of carpet at the Oscars for the Tonight Show (Kath you should remember that), I've loved him, so it was really exciting to see him in action. And he was super nice and sweet.

Just Ross the Intern, love him

But the highlight of Friday was right towards the end. We were just crossing Main Street when I stopped dead and spotted Robert Redford driving the car that had just past. I called out to the girls and we literally sprinted down Main, right in the middle of traffic after the car. Luckily, traffic stopped it not too far down and I ran to the passenger side to snap a picture when his wife saw me and my camera and held her hand up to completely block my shot. (i.e. she literally thought we were paparazzi). Then they drove away again. Was it embarrassing? Sure. Are we crazy? A little, yeah. Was it worth it? totally.
Saturday was full of sightings ranging from A to D-listers including the stupid Bachelor people that I don't care about (Tenley I want to say..), the guy that played Ethan on LOST, Rachel Leigh Cook, Anne Heche, Danny Glover, Holly from the Office, Paul Giamatti, and others.
One highlight for me was when we saw a bunch of E! News guys and I got to take my picture with them and chat for a bit. I realize that isn't very exciting for most, but as an avid E! News watcher, I was excited.

The ultimate highlight of Saturday, however, was when we went to the Red Banjo for dinner. We were all starving and stepped in out of the cold for a slice of Pizza. Not ten minutes after we had sat down, they seated a group at the table next to ours and I immediately recognized one of the guys' faces, but could not, for the life of me, place him. It was driving me crazy all through dinner (during which Alan Thicke came in the restaurant for a minute too, totally random). Finally as we were leaving I decided to buck up and just ask him. We walked by and he was cordially smiling at our group as we left and I seized my opportunity.
"I'm so sorry to bother you but you look so familiar to me." I said.
"I'm on 16 candles and Breakfast Club." He replied understandably. And it immediately clicked. He was the 'oily bo-hunk' (Sam's sister marries him) in 16 Candles and the wise Janitor from The Breakfast Club.
His name is John Kapelos and he was so so nice and even offered to take a picture with us. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love John Hugh's movies and can appreciate how exciting this was for me. Seriously, 16 Candles and The Breakfast Club?! Those are two of my favorite movies of all time! He even talked to us about John Hughes for a few minutes as he had worked on multiple projects with him, and how sad he was to hear of his passing a couple years ago. He was seriously so nice and obliging.
It was the perfect way to wrap up my Sundance opening weekend.
Okay and because this is just too funny and embarrassing, check out the end of this video when Ross is talking...
