Bowling for Work

If you're like me, when you hear stories about the bowling alley in the White House you picture  fancypants, more baroque-style lanes with gold leaf details and white marble scoring tables...

Not so.

It's more of your average middle-rung office space with flourescent lighting, with a couple of bowling lanes down the middle as you can see in the pictures. And...it's not actually in the White House, it's in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building right next door, The first bowling alley at the White House was installed as a birthday gift to President Harry S Truman in 1947. It was moved in 1955 to the Old Executive Office Building.  Lucky Brody got to bowl a couple of turns on these famous lanes, in the footsteps of Presidents past, and undoubtedly countless interns :)

After a little research, I found the following concept art from 2008, and found out they are plannign to re-vamp it and make it much more modern and fancy.  But I'm guessing these plans were put on hold because of the whole recession thing.  Good choice Fed.

ha ha that is funny, they look so dumpy. the fluorescent lighting is pretty bad. Brody is super lucky though, not many people can say they did that.
