Valentines in Alexandria

Saturday, Brody and I took the yellow line out to Alexandria, VA to do a little exploring. Even though the temperature was in the 30's, the sun was out and it was so nice to get outside!  The George Washington Masonic Memorial is right off the King Street stop and sits on a hill overlooking the river.  The architecture is kind of crazy (the top reminds me of a beehive) and inside there were lots of different kinds of meeting rooms and halls. Afterwards we came back to the city to celebrate our Valentine's dinner at The Hamilton, capping it off with a walk home from the restaurant by the White House, where there were all kinds of strange trailers and constructiony-looking things. I'm thinking it was a movie set....?  It was a lovely day!!!
